Today @ The Flat Iron the shop hosts another of it's Bi-Monthly Sunday Nite 8-Ball tournaments. $20 a head, teams of two, standard 8-ball rules, cash & prizes for 1st and 2nd place teams, open to all, registration 4-5 pm with 1st game starting @ 5:30pm sharp, drink specials at the bar, good times, good music, ladies ?

The shop is pleased to announce we are now the exclusive Chicago / Midwest retailer for the JS Sloane line of men's grooming products. Checkout the killer video to see what the company and their products are all about..

Their pomade has the perfect clean scent, goes in smooth, provides just the right amount of hold without being too much, and washes out clean with water. Look for their products to hit the shop in the next week or two.

Sunday 6/24/12 is the June edition of our Hangover Shave Sundays events here at the shop. 10am - 3pm, first come first served, three barbers to keep the shop moving, etc. $20 gets you a haircut OR a hot towel straight razor shave, world famous MANbQUE burger cooked right outside the shop, and a ice cold pint of locally made Half Acre beer to wash it all down. The "Mobile Joe's" pop up shop is coming to The Vintage Bazaar Sunday 6/10/12

 

Our pop-up "Mobile Joe's" barbershop will be doing signature/classic cuts at the Vintage Bazaar's on 6/10, 7/8, 8/12 & 9/9. So now you can bring your woman to the bazaar, then stop by the shop and hangout, shoot the crap, get cleaned up, all while earning brownie points. 

Hair not doing what ya want it too ?

Your 1st problem is that it might not be cut right. Having the hair cut to the way you actually wear it is the #1 issue guys have with their hair. If you wear your hair in say a traditional pompadour, then it should be cut in that style. The more the cut itself is catered to the style, the easier it will be for the customer to style his own hair on a daily basis..

2nd Issue we come across is that people aren't using the correct product for their desired style. Johnny Cash and Elvis's hair wasn't natural people ! They had TONS of grease in their hair to get those trademark styles. So do yourself a favor and get some water based pomade, don't be afraid to glob it in, and pickup yourself a nice simple comb. The days of "combing" your hair with your fingers were over the day you got out of college. Both Layrite and Suavecito brand pomade are both available in the shop and will get you looking your dapper best while still washing out clean in the shower...
