this what it's come too ? Local “Barbershops” sending over females to
get their hair cut at our shop just to cause us issues. Prank phonecalls
from “competing” barbershops in the area. Other barbershop's stealing
pictures that we post online and putting them up on their pages ! I
mean, the frickin shop's don’t even look the same in the least genius !
Taking the words that I post, literally copying them word for word, and
posting them as your own? Local shop’s befriending all of our “friends”
trying to make them switch shops? Then once it comes out they “block” us
from their social media? Like we care what they do. It’s getting so
petty and so old. Is that good business ? Is this how you run your
business? Is this how you want to portray your business to the public ?
If I were a customer I would be embarrassed to tell people where I got
my haircut. Joe Sr. started this shop back in 1968 and we are very very
lucky to still be around today, and doing as well as we are. All of this
social media stuff is fun, or atleast it was when we started it around 4
years ago. Now all it has become is something to check on to see what
shop has stole our logo today, which shop is re-posting our pictures and
words, and who I have to send out very large Jewish lawyer after next.
We do what we do, and we do it the very best we can. Maybe other shop’s
should focus on trying to do the same. – Joe Jr.
has come once again. Saturdays are by far the busiest day here in our
little shop. Our barbers work as fast as they can, but do not rush when
it comes to cutting hair and shaving. Some styles and customers take
more time to get in/out of the chair, some take less. We always have
been a 1st come 1st served cash only non-appointment barbershop and that
is NOT going to change. We do what we do the best we can, and have
said before we will put our $15 dollar haircut up against ANY in the
city, no matter how expensive. Saturday ='s a crazy day, so if your
planning on coming in today for a cut/shave, bring your patience, expect
around a hour wait, enjoy the beer fridge, watch a movie, wait your
turn in the chair, and enjoy a day NOT at work.
Come out October 11th & 12th to
WoodStock, IL for the 2nd annual Iron Invasion traditional hot rod &
custom show. Our very own Chuck TheBarber will be manning the “Mobile
Joe’s” pop-up barbershop once again offering up our signature hot lather
straight razor shaves and traditional haircuts and styles. Click the
link below for more info about this great midwest show —> * * * facebook.com/IronInvasion * * *
What makes a good business ? Why do
people go to one shop over another ? Back in the day businesses were
built on quality, value, and keeping to what the business owner wants to
offer to his customers. Now a days it is do whatever you can do to suck
each and every person that walks in the door dry, give the least amount
of service for the MOST price, skimp here and their to save a buck, Do
whatever your customers want/demand to make more $$, etc. When did
everything change ?

Places like our little barbershop are
deeply rooted in the way things used to be. We are (and always will be) a
first come first served, cash only, traditional barbershop (not a
salon) for gentleman. We do NOT rush people out of the chair, we do NOT
do haircuts and styles that we do not feel are traditional, we do NOT
raise our prices every week to gouge our loyal customers, and we def. do
NOT worry about what the other pop-up “barbershops” are doing down the
street. Established 1968 means allot to everyone that works here at
Joe’s , and it should mean something to you..
The shop is proud to again be a part of VooDoo Larry's open house,
taking place on Sunday August 4th 2013 in Elk Grove Village, IL. Come
out and see some of the best, handmade hot-rod's and customs around,
music, food, and our very own Chuck TheBarber working the mobile joe's
pop-up barbershop offering up show goers our signature haircuts and hot
lather straight razor shaves. PLEASE NOTE the real Joe's Barbershop will
be closed this day.
out and about this 4th of July PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch out for our
fellow 2 wheeled friends. Just one second u look down to text that hot
chick from the bar to get a piece of ass you can literally end a
motorcycle riders life !
As of 7/1/13 Joe’s Barbershop Chicago
will NO LONGER carry Layrite brand products .We have a limited supply of
their Regular hold pomade and No.9 aftershave, and after that’s gone
it’s gone. We currently stock JS Sloane & Shiner Gold brand pomades
which are far superior in hold & value. We as a small shop are going
to focus on supporting other small businesses and leave the big
corporate machine companies to the chain “barbershops” to push.
Sometimes it’s not all about making money in this world. Respect
tradition and help support small business, we do…

media outlet ya prefer, search out the shop and make sure you are in the
know on everything that is and is going to happen.
shop is honored to have been picked as the exclusive Chicago retailer
of Shiner Gold pomade. Water based so it goes in & washes out clean,
flexible / strong hold all day, light scent, and just $15 = 4oz. tin.
Did ya know that Joe Sr. has been cutting
hair and performing straight razor shaves since the age of 10 !
Literally his only job in life has been a barber. Since his father
taught him the trade back in a small one chair shop in Italy, so him
doing it today at age 66. Respect tradition, and remember the term
“Barber” comes from the word “Beard”, which utterly means a traditional
barbershop is a place for men. It is NOT a term to be used at a unisex
place giving out mediocre haircuts, no shaves, and kill the customer
with high prices and products that are marked up 450%.
Are you aware that the shop is now open
till 8pm on Thursdays ? Well, we are. Joe Jr, Tyler, & Chuck man the
shop for a long, long day of close cuts, clean straight razor shaves,
metal on the radio, dirty jokes, and NO TV 9am – 8pm. Take advantage of
this longer day to get that much needed cut/shave BEFORE the weekend
madness which is Friday, Saturday, & Sunday in the shop. 1st come
1st served as always..
JS Sloane's line of fine gentleman's grooming products is available here
at the shop, and ONLY here at the shop within the city limits ! Their
Heavyweight and Lightweight water based pomades go in super tacky, hold
all day, provide a comb-able hold, and wash out clean with water. Next
time you are in the shop pick up a can and you wont be sorry you did..

JS Sloane hand picked Joe’s Barbershop
Chicago to carry their line of fine men’s hair grooming products. Out of
the entire city of Chicago they picked us ! Next time you are in for a
cut/shave grab a tin of their Heavyweight or Liteweight pomade and see
what a true gentlemans product can do for your hair.
We are barbers, not miracle workers people !
Guy comes in yesterday with a outgrown "Undercut" hairstyle (Google it
if you aren't sure what the kids are wearing today). Says he wants a
regular haircut, the barber kindly tells him that it's going
to be hard as their is little to no hair on the sides of his head to
work with. After 30 minutes cutting hair off here and there and going
back and forth with the mirror trying to get a sense of what the
customer is ACTUALLY wanting he literally says "I'm not opposed to just
doing a buzz all over" ! So with absolutely no direction from the
customer the barber did the best he could, and what does he and the shop
get, but A two star review on good ol' YELP ! Click the link, read what
"Peter M" had to say, and please remember we can only do what your hair
and your description will allow. It's YOUR hair, YOU have to decide
what the barber does with it. If you aren't good at describing what ya
like, bring in a picture --->
June 1st 2013 the shop will now be open 9am – 8pm on Thursdays. Last

door at 7:58pm expecting to get a cut. We are staying open longer to
address the seriously long wait times that have been plaguing the shop
as of late, so please try and respect the times we are open. ALSO please
be aware that also starting June 1st Joe Sr. will be taking Thursdays
off, while his son Joe Jr. will be switching his day off to
